Part Time Swim Coach

Position Summary: 

The Part-Time Swim Coach supports the safe, inclusive, and progressive development of swimmers in accordance with USA Swimming guidelines. This role is responsible for leading practices, developing athletes’ technical skills, promoting team spirit, and maintaining a positive and motivating environment for all participants. This is a seasonal position with the potential to transition into year-round, part-time employment for the right candidate.  

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and organize structured swim practices for age-group and/or competitive swimmers.
  • Ensure swimmer safety and uphold all USA Swimming and facility safety protocols.
  • Teach and reinforce proper stroke technique, starts, turns, and race strategies.
  • Foster a positive team culture focused on respect, sportsmanship, and individual improvement.
  • Communicate regularly with swimmers and parents regarding goals, progress, and meet information in a respectful, hospitable, and professional manner.
  • Provide real-time feedback and correction during practices and competitions.
  • Support meet preparation and attend scheduled swim meets when required.
  • Set up and clean up equipment for practices. 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Enforce facility and pool rules to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
  • Respond calmly and appropriately to all emergencies; know and follow all emergency procedures.
  • Attend required trainings, staff meetings, and maintain ongoing certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Aquatics Director. 

 

Required Certifications (must be current or completed before start date): 

  • USA Swimming Coach Certification, including:
  • Athlete Protection Training
  • Background Check
  • Safety Training for Swim Coaches
  • Foundations of Coaching 101
  • American Red Cross (or equivalent) CPR, First Aid, and AED certification 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Prior coaching experience with youth and/or competitive swimmers.
  • Strong understanding of stroke mechanics and training principles.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements: 

  • Willingness to travel as needed for swim meets and team events as scheduled throughout the season.
  • 2-3 days of weekday availability in the afternoons.
  • Occasional weekend availability for swim meets and team events.
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor pool environment in inclement weather conditions. 
  • Must be able to work in an indoor pool environment for select swim meets.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, move quickly, and respond to emergencies in and around the pool.
  • May need to lift/move equipment up to 25 lbs.

Lifeguard
Job Summary:
The Lifeguard will ensure swimmers’ safety in the pool area and administer first aid or lifesaving techniques when needed.
 
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Ensures that the rules and regulations of the swimming pool are followed to maintain a safe swimming environment.
· Administers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and uses automated external defibrillator (AED) when needed.
· Contacts emergency medical personnel when a serious injury occurs.
· Performs occasional pool cleaning and maintenance tasks such as emptying trash cans.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Extensive knowledge of and ability to administer or use first aid, CPR, AED, and other lifesaving techniques.
· Excellent observational skills.
· Ability to enforce pool regulations and rules.

Certification Requirements & Hiring Incentives:

  • A valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification is required for this position.

  • Beginning 2/1/25: If you currently hold an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification valid through June 2025, you may be eligible for a $350 hiring bonus, distributed as follows:
  • $100 paid on your first paycheck
  • $250 paid two months after your hire date, provided you have worked a minimum of 32 total hours during that period (averaging at least 4 hours per week)

Physical Requirements:

· Must be at least 16 years old.

· Must be a skilled swimmer and able to pull weight through the water.

Position Overview: Junior Lifeguards assist Lifeguards and Head Lifeguards in their duties to maintain pool safety and learn skills necessary to become a lifeguard.

Associate Facilities Director

Job Title: Associate Facilities Director

Position Overview:
The Associate Facilities Director will oversee renovation projects as well as maintenance of buildings, swimming pools and grounds. This role will drive a high-performance team of 15+ through supervision and training. Key responsibilities will include ensuring safety, cleanliness and functionality for the full facility, as well as planning and supervision of renovation projects. This position will report to the Facilities Director.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Construction Projects: Manage and oversee construction, renovation, and improvement projects. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable regulations. Ability to read architectural drawings, knowledge of permitting and building code required.
• Strategy: Ability to think strategically to maximize impact of maintenance activities and plan large improvements methodically over multiple years.
• Building Maintenance: Oversee and ensure the effective operation and maintenance of all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs. Coordinate preventive maintenance and respond to urgent repair needs as necessary.
• Cleaning Services: Work with the Cleaning Coordinator to supervise and coordinate daily cleaning activities, ensuring the facility is kept clean, sanitary, and safe for all employees and customers. Maintain cleaning schedules and ensure that cleaning staff are properly trained and equipped.
• Exterior Maintenance: Ensure that the exterior of the building is maintained to a high standard, including parking lots, walkways, signage, and exterior lighting. Coordinate snow removal, pest control, and other exterior needs as they arise.
• Landscaping: Oversee landscaping and groundskeeping efforts, ensuring that the facility’s outdoor spaces are well-maintained, aesthetically pleasing, and compliant with any relevant codes and environmental guidelines.
• Budgeting and Resource Management: Planning new construction and upgrades. Evaluate cost-effective strategies for managing resources and reducing operational costs.
• Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers, ensuring quality work and adherence to schedules and budget. Manage contracts for services such as cleaning, landscaping, and building repairs.
• Pool Maintenance and Renovation: Facility Manager will handle daily pool maintenance, renovation, and repairs, the Associate Facilities Director will provide support as needed and assume responsibility during absence of Facility Manager and Facility Director.
• Team Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate a team of maintenance, cleaning, and groundskeeping staff. Foster a positive work environment and ensure team members are properly equipped to perform their jobs safely and efficiently. In cooperation with the Facilities Manager, coach and schedule Maintenance Technicians. Will be part of rotating on-call coverage schedule.
• Safety: Knowledge of job site safety and OSHA compliance.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years’ experience in construction management.
• Previous experience as a site foreman or superintendent.
• Proven experience in new construction and/or renovation.
• Knowledge of permitting and building code required.
• 5+ years’ experience managing a team of at least 15.
• Must have an extensive knowledge of trade skills including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC to quality control work performed by vendors.
• Preferred certifications: Aquatic Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operator in 90 days.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong and effective computer skills.
• College degree in related fields: business management, engineering, construction management, project management.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions (for exterior maintenance and landscaping).

Job Title: Front Desk Lead

Reports To: Guest Services Director

Position Overview

The Front Desk Lead, under the direction of the Guest Services Director, plays a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations at Old Town Hot Springs front desk. This role involves mentoring and supporting front desk attendants, resolving guest and member concerns with professionalism, and taking ownership of tasks such as training, locker management, billing support, and communication between the front desk team and leadership. The ideal candidate is a solutions-oriented leader with excellent customer service skills and the ability to guide others effectively.

 

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Training

  • Train and onboard new front desk team members, ensuring they understand tasks, responsibilities, and expectations.
  • Partner with the Guest Services Director in the recruiting and interview process for new hires.
  • Serve as a mentor and daily point of contact for front desk staff, answering questions and offering guidance as needed.
  • Hold team members accountable to company policies and procedures, addressing any performance or compliance issues constructively.

Operational Excellence

  • Open and close the front desk area, including POS systems, and ensure team members are proficient in these procedures.
  • Ensure the front desk is fully stocked and operational, including change for cash drawers, receipts, key tags, gift cards, and new member folders.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by monitoring supplies, work areas, and more.
  • Support retail operations in collaboration with Retail Lead, ensuring items are accurately stocked and displayed.

Guest & Member Support

  • Assist with membership management, including issue resolution and billing support.
  • Accurately sell, assign, and cancel lockers, and maintain locker agreements in an organized system.
  • Stay informed on all new programs, policies, and procedures by working with department Directors, and effectively communicate these to front desk staff and members.

Administrative & Communication Duties

  • Act as the primary liaison between front desk staff and Directors, ensuring the Guest Services team is informed of important issues while independently resolving day-to-day concerns.
  • Provide regular updates and feedback on front desk operations, staff performance, and member experiences to the Guest Services Director.
  • Take initiative on additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Guest Services Director.

Massage Therapist

Old Town Hot Springs is looking for Massage Therapists to join the Massage Team. The Massage Therapist will apply a range of massage techniques involving hands and fingers to relieve pain in muscles, soft tissues, and other parts of the body.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Consults with clients before massage to identify and evaluate areas requiring therapeutic treatment.
  • Consults with clients to assess their expectations, and asks questions related to pain or discomfort and to learn and/or update their medical histories as necessary and appropriate to the scope of treatment.
  • Performs requested or suggested massage techniques, that may include deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, sports massage, prenatal massage, myofascial release therapy, lymphatic drainage.
  • Occasionally communicates with the patient throughout the massage to ensure comfort with pressure levels and techniques being applied.
  • Provides a relaxing and safe environment for clients.
  • Ensures smooth transitions between massage techniques.
  • Demonstrates and educates clients on methods to soothe and strengthen targeted muscles and tissues at home; may provide reference materials or links to websites and videos for further guidance and instruction.
