  • Aquatics Director

     Bachelor’s degree in related field.
     Minimum 3-5 years of successful experience as an Aquatics Director.
     Positive 3-5 year history of leadership in the areas of staff, program development, fiscal budgeting and management.
     Proven experience in recruiting, hiring, training, developing and supervising a team of at least 50 staff.
     Proven ability to display initiative and good judgement.
     Experience developing a high performing team of staff, which delivers quality programs and services.
     Strong and effective computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
     Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
     Ability to foster a collaborative team approach to solving challenging situations.
     Must possess excellent inter-personal and motivational skills to maintain an open and well-structured relationship between aquatics staff, managers, Executive Director and Board of Directors of OTHS.
     Budgeting annual income and expenses for the entire Aquatics department.
     Expertise in conducting trainings for: lifeguards, swim instructors, First Aid, CPR, and Administering Emergency Oxygen.
     Training Requirements:
    o Immediately upon hire: Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification including First Aid & CPR for Professional Rescuers.
    o Within 6 months of hire: NSPF Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or NRPA Aquatics Facility Operator (AFO), American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor.

    Essential Job Functions:
    Perform the following functions for Lifeguarding, Swim Lessons, Swim Team and all Aquatics Programs
     Provide leadership, direction and supervision of the entire aquatics team.
     Serve as a Lifeguard, Swim Instructor and Swim Coach as needed.
     Communicate, behave and think as a dynamic leader and role model for both staff and members.
     Promote healthy living, social responsibility and collaborative relationships in the community.
     Develop operating objectives, monitor and exercise action to achieve goals.
     Prepare, administer and control annual budget.
     Prepare aquatics payroll.
     Recruit, hire, train, certify, schedule, monitor, evaluate and motivate staff.
     Develop, plan, promote, direct and evaluate all aquatics programs.
     Schedules all programmable water and aquatics programs.

    Other Responsibilities:
     Maintains a professional image and manner consistent with the OTHS mission and goals.
     Excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials and all members of the general public.
     Manages and supervises assigned operations to achieve goals within available resources.
     Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long range plans and gathers, interprets, and prepares data for studies, reports and recommendations as it pertains to the aquatics department.
     Assist with special events, parties, fundraisers as needed.
     Attend bi-weekly managers’ meetings.

  • Lifeguard

    Old Town Hot Springs is hiring American Red Cross certified Lifeguards for all days and shifts to keep our spas, Hot Pool, Lap Pool and Water Slide safe. It is never too early to apply for a summer position.

    Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding and CPRO certification preferred but re-certifications can be provided for select candidates at no cost.
